Make Learning Stick with Oak and Reeds

Oak and Reeds wants to help our clients support on-the-job microlearning across a variety of relevant topics. That’s why we’ve created whisper courses to supplement our live, virtual instructor-led training content.

We provide strategies to help you succeed at work.

Our live, virtual instructor-led workshops can now be paired with whisper courses. This new content provides highly relevant and easy to complete tasks to your learners right at the point of need. All of these courses are customizable and can be tailored to your organization’s specific learning needs.

Here’s how we do it:

STEP 1: Tailoring the Content to Your Organization

Today’s workplace requires team members to be autonomous thinkers responsible for making sound decisions based on limited information. Research over the past few decades has shown us that the most important leadership qualities are centered around soft skills and emotional intelligence.

Learning opportunities, like our Oak and Reeds content, can transform your business. Our content the edge needed to stay ahead of the competition. In fact, studies have shown that effective training programs like ours are a critical driver of your ability to bring in and retain top talent.

For every project, we start with an analysis of the organization’s current state of learning and work closely with the leadership team to decide on necessary skillsets for the future. Starting with a training needs analysis survey helps our clients avoid wasting resources on irrelevant and unnecessary training. It also helps them focus on what matters most for their specific future.

STEP 2: Think, Pair, Share…. In Action

“Think, Pair, Share” is a collaborative learning strategy where team members work together to better understand new concepts and theories. With this interactive learning strategy, learners engage with new content in three stages:

  • Think: Start by giving individuals a chance to tackle a challenge or idea on their own

  • Pair: Group  people up in a breakout room to discuss their approaches and share ideas

  • Share: Bring people back into the main room to report back their results

Learners are able to engage with new content multiple times throughout our learning programs. During the workshop, they are able to learn and practice new tools and techniques with their peers in a safe environment. After the workshop, they are enrolled in whisper courses that allow them to apply new theories to their work.

Engaging with the content in this repetitive, consistent, and meaningful way allows learners to retain the information for longer. Results from these whisper courses - including data on how learners engaged with the content and how it affected their work - are provided to our clients so that they can continue to upskill their talent.
